Houston Top Air Polluters

A new report from the Air Alliance Houston have reveled the worst air polluters in Houston. Topping the list are ExxonMobil Baytown, LyondellBasell in Channelview and Chevron Phillips in Baytown. According to the article in Houston Public Media, these three companies make up 60% of the chemical release in Harris County. With data sources from the EPA and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) between 2018 and 2022, over 250 different chemicals have been released in Pasadena, Deer Park, Channelview, and Baytown. Of all these different chemicals, Ethylene was said to be the most-emitted compound, and the most dangerous. Ethylene is not only linked to Lymphoma and leukemia but to stomach and breast cancers as well.
