What is Carbon Neutral?

Carbon neutral is when a person, or even a company, removes the same amount of carbon dioxide they release into the atmosphere through their everyday activities. Although process can also be called net zero carbon emissions, net zero usually include other gases such as methane, nitrous oxide and hydrofluorocarbons. However, to be carbon neutral, no additional carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere. Essentially, one action offset the other.

While not an easy task for a company or country, individuals can accomplish this task by paying attention to things like water consumption, eating locally produced food, walk when and where they can, and reducing their energy consumption.
