But what is a HEPA filter and how does it work?

 What is a HEPA Filter?

HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters are specialized pleated mechanical air filters that capture up to 99.97% of airborne contaminants, as small as 0.3 microns. In addition, they are among the most effective filtration systems, capable of capturing particles invisible to the naked eye.

 How HEPA Filters Work

HEPA filters use a dense web of glass or fibers, arranged in pleats, trapping contaminants like dust, pollen, and bacteria through three primary mechanisms. Each method targets different particle size that ensures comprehensive purification.

  •  Inertial impaction: trap larger particles.

  • Interception: trap Mid-sized particles.

  • Diffusion: capture Nanoparticles that range in size from 1 to 100 nanometers.

 What HEPA Filters Capture?

  • Pet allergens

  • Pollen

  • Bacteria

  • Mold

  • Viruses and

  • Particle pollution (PM2.5), which is one of the most serious air pollutants, due to its microscopic size and ability to penetrate deep into the body. These fine particulate matter are a significant contributor to air pollution and related health issues.
